“Exploring, Making Friends & Having Summer Fun Sine 1971”

    Camp Overview
Shenandoah Summer Camp offers a variety of programs for both first time and experienced campers entering  4th – 12th grades. We offer 130 acres of unspoiled wilderness where you will be surrounded by a beautiful healthy environment, caring adults and positive teen role-models. We also offer exciting opportunities to explore some of the most scenic mountains, rivers and cliffs of Virginia and West Virginia. This sets the stage for gaining the confidence to scale a rock wall, building new friendships and strengthening old ones, finding leadership, and discovering nature!

    Staff
At the heart of all of this is a team of caring, qualified, outdoor professionals who are dedicated to creating the best possible environment for all campers. Our 5:1 camper/staff ratio ensures a safe, non-competitive environment where friendships are easily found. In addition, we require each group have at least one Wilderness First Responder, keeping safety as our first priority.

    Adventure
Everyone will have the opportunity to explore various adventure activities. Keep in mind; the skill level and duration of these activities are tailored to your session’s age range and interest. No previous experience is necessary.

    Challenge Course
In addition to our adventure and traditional camp activities you will have the chance to challenge yourself through one of our many high ropes elements! Fly on our 500 foot Zip Line, feel the exhilaration on our 45 foot Giant Swing, navigate our 7 foot Low Ropes Course or face the ultimate team challenge on our 40 foot High Ropes Course and more.

    Lodging
Home sweet home at Shenandoah Summer camp is a cozy platform tent. Each tent is furnished with 2 bunk beds and a shelf with cubbies to stow your clothes and gear for your stay. We have a girls and boys tent village separated by Junior Counselor tents.

    Meals
Shenandoah Summer camp provides a variety of healthy and appetizing meals for our campers. There will be a vegetarian option at every meal. If your camper has any special dietary needs, please let us know as soon as possible and we will make sure to accommodate them!

    Transportation
We provide a bus to and from camp for a fee of $25 each way. The bus picks up campers at the Sheridan School (4400 36th St. N.W., Washington, D.C. 20008) at 11:30am on the first day of each session and returns campers to the school at 12:00pm on the last day of each session. There is limited space available so please reserve early.
