Edu-Culture International (ECI) is a non-profit educational organization run by professionals with advanced degrees in education. We specialize in summer study abroad and exchange programs for high school students, and have exciting summer trips based in Lyon, Aix-en-Provence and Toulouse. These study trips provide unique opportunities for pre-college teens to learn French in France and offer the choice of staying with host families or in university-style dormitories.
ECI’s Fremch immersion programs last from 3 to 4 weeks, with the first 2-3 weeks including language classes. The morning classes are small, interactive, fun and usually include other international students. After lunch, there are a variety of supervised activities like kayaking, soccer, visits to the beach or to nearby villages and towns, cooking classes and more. After dinner we enjoy concerts, dancing, movies, and other social activities. Of course, there’s plenty of free time for students to get together with friends to explore their own interests – getting a taste of independence and college life is an important part of the experience.
Our French study trips also include travel to some of the most beautiful places in France – Paris, Nice, St Tropez, Carcassonne, Cassis, Annecy, Avignon and more! We always choose high quality, centrally located hotels and professional bilingual guides. Each group is comprised of 30 students and 3 full-time chaperones.
High school students who are planning on applying to college in the near future know how important it is to have a strong application. With ECI’s study abroad programs, teens can earn three semester units of credit in French through an accredited US university. These credits are transferable to any university, and are accepted by most universities in the United States.
